There are certainly plenty of places to go to in this neighborhood. I would certainly recommend Blackbarn. The place is real nice. I was a bit early for my reservation. But was seated and got a cocktail while i waited. It was a burbon tea. Delicious. The rest of my party got the $29 classic cocktail and entry. Incredible deal. A old fashion and a steak salad in NYC on a Saturday night. That was actually good. A unicorn. I ate the amish chicken. That was also very good

Blackbarn is one of the most underrated restaurants in NYC and I don't understand how it doesn't have at a minimum 4.5 stars on Yelp. The location is stunning, offering an array of seating from their tavern, main floor, outdoors, and private dining rooms on the sides. I have been a few time both for work and for dinner with friends and each time we always have a fantastic experience. What I look forward to each time is the seasonal menu items - right now items from the apps to drinks to desserts have some summer inspiration to them! Last night we ordered the Roasted Summer Peaches, the Seafood Tower, and the blueberry and black currant ice cream sandwich. The star of the show was the roasted peaches, but I would happily eat everything again! Our waiter was super attentive and helpful the entire evening, which is part of why I love blackbarn so much! The service is always top notch. One of my favorite menu items that we didn't order this time around is the ribs! If it's your first time at blackbarn, they're a must order!

We were guests here for a company function and the servers were really great, efficiently serving us and remaining pleasant even though tending to our large group must have been challenging. I'd not been here before and didn't know what to expect. The barn theme is prevalent in a large main seating area with a barn superstructure framework above the main dining room. We were in a room upstairs used for groups. The decor is simple but clean and elegant. The restaurant appears to be very progressive and focused on supporting local providers and healthy ingredients in their recipes. Our tasting menu featured a bread basket with a nice variety, salad, a poultry main, and a dessert. Everything was nicely prepared and presented and again I found the service excellent. The bread was typically evil and tasty and included some crispy sticks with a cheese flavor. The salad was pretty and very good. The chicken didn't really stand out in the meal but was solid and pleasing. Dessert was a pair of sorbet scoops, one raspberry and one mango; both were refreshing and light, the raspberry perhaps a bit on the tart side. Very pleased overall, the venue is versatile enough for casual or business and the food and service are both very good.

Had a really, really good meal at Blackbarn! We went on an early Saturday evening when the restaurant was quiet and got seated in the tavern area. For starters we had the Truffle Mac & Cheese Croquettes and the Big-eye Tuna Tartare - both very good. For entrees we had the Char Grilled Wagyu and the Chicken Milanese sandwich and enjoyed both very much. The Wagyu steak was prepared perfectly to the medium rare that we wanted but what made the dish especially stand out was the romaine au gratin that it was served with - very creative (the Parmesan fries that came with it were also very good). Topping it off was the wonderful desserts - we had the Chocolate Soufflé, Apple Cider Doughnuts and the Rum Butterscotch Bread Pudding. Will definitely have all of them again. Service was attentive with our empty water glasses being refilled quickly and our server Hemant was very friendly and helpful. Will be back!

came here for brunch as it was highly suggested by another yelper alicia c and could not have loved it more. on a saturday afternoon there was a small crowd here. the ceilings are high, the place is quiet, it's also huge. service was ON POINT. the chicken n waffles is a must get! its perfect and modestly priced too! i loved the crunchy but soft outter skin of the chicken and the waffles were slightly sweet. dont forget to drown it in the sauce/cream! ps that salad of dark greens on the side was a nice mix for the heavy lunch. the loadded tots are perfect to share - let me tell you they were baked perfectly!

I been to this restaurant 2x for brunch and it never disappoints. The place it's very big and I like the clean elegant decor. The food it's always great and I love that you can taste the quality of the ingredients. I had the breaded chicken sandwich and not only was it delicious but a very generous portion. I will definitely come back next time I'm in the area.

This is a good all american classic brunch spot. It wasn't too crowded but there were a decent amount of people. I got the salmon tartine but I would come back to try the burger and other items. Reasonable prices and great service! They also gave us complimentary mini honey corn muffins- delicious!

Update: I came back here for a work dinner and I got to try some of their dinner entrees. The food was good, however, the vegetarian options are limited and feel more to be on the sweet/creamy side. It would be nice if they had more veggie options that are as well thought out as some of their other dishes. What I did LOVE was their chocolate souffle. It is a true souffle that does take time to make and must be ordered in advance. It was delicious and second best souffle I've had in the city. Previous review: Service: The service was average. We ordered drinks and sometimes they came fast and other times slow. Our waitress wouldn't check in on us very often either and I think we would have ordered more drinks if she had. Drinks: The drinks were excellent here. We were all very happy with our drink choices. Food: Everyone seemed to love their food. The portion size is big. I will say I was disappointed with the vegetarian food options. There wasn't a lot of savory options for brunch and everything else was basics pancakes and french toast. I did order the avocado toast and that was very delicious and much better than I even imagined. Cost: I would say the restaurant was a lot more expensive than anticipated and I don't think the overall experience was worth the cost.

Came here for brunch several time and we love this place. Once you step inside it doesn't feel like you are in city. Really feels like you are in a barn or a rustic farm house. Love that it feels like an escape from the city. The space is huge! It may look empty from the window but when you walk to the back it's loud and happening. They also have a lot of space to do private events. It's got a tour of the place to add to my list of great event spaces The food is also really good and the portions are large. We had the chilaquiles, avocado toast, and the French toast. All yum.
